Wade Abadie – President / CEO
Wade Abadie is SURF Subsea’s President and CEO. Mr. Abadie has held key Management Positions in the Deepwater Subsea Industry for over 35 years. Wade is considered to be one of the pioneers in the use of ROVs in the Oil and Gas Marketplace and was also a key member in building one of the largest groups of ROVs serving in the Oil and Gas Industry in the 1970’s. Additionally, he is responsible for helping design and implement some of the earlier incarnations of the Work Class ROVs in use today.
Key Projects Mr. Abadie has assisted in include Shell’s Cognac, Exxon’s Lena Guyed Tower, and BP’s deepwater projects: Thunder Horse, Holstein, Mad Dog, and Atlantis. Jim McClaugherty – VP Business Development
Jim McClaugherty is SURF Subsea’s V.P. Of Business Development, leading the company’s Sales and Marketing efforts. Mr. McClaugherty has over 40 years of experience in the Offshore Industry and started his career as a commercial diver in the Gulf of Mexico where, over a 10 year period, he held various positions, including Tender, Diver, and Dive Supervisor. In 1979, Jim McClaugherty became a project manager and subsequently served in the capacity of Operations Manager, General Manager, and in Sales and Business Development roles (including Director of Marketing) for a number of Diving and Marine Contracting Companies. David Rokohl – Operations Manager
David has worked in the offshore Oil and Gas Industry approaching a decade. During this time, he has worked on a number of deepwater construction projects worldwide. He was also involved in Subsea Production and Workover Systems in the GOM. His work includes, but is not limited to:
Deepwater construction, Deepwater development fields, Subsea installations, Well commissioning, Live well control through IWOC system, Jumper installation, PLET installation, HFL/EFL installation, POD installation, Tree installation, Leak detection, Valve operations, As lay inspections, and Pre Lay inspections.
David was also involved in onshore projects related to the design and manufacturing of a major oil companies IWOC control system for client BP. Rick Seabrook – Technical Manager
Rick Seabrook is the Technical Manager at SURF Subsea. He has worked in the offshore industry for more than 10 years working both offshore as well as Management positions. Before coming to work in the Gulf of Mexico, Mr. Seabrook was employed with American Marine Services in Honolulu, HI for two years. Aaron Billings – Marine Manager
Aaron Billings is SURF Subsea’s Marine Manager. Mr. Billings holds ABS Academy ISM Internal Auditor certification and has over 24 years of marine experience. His experience ranges from Captain with a perfect service record to Port Engineer responsible for the conversion of an OSV to a OSV/DSV. He has managed an 11 vessel fleet and assures work will remain in compliance with OSHA, ABS, USCG, SOLAS and IMCA when applicable. Most recently, Mr. Billings managed the hiring of the crew that is now operating the SURF Challenger. Mr. Billings can be reached at abillings@surfsubsea.com.
Ed Rushing – Safety Manager
Ed Rushing is SURF Subsea’s Safety Manager. Mr. Rushing comes to SURF from the United States Coast Guard where he spent 20 years as a Chief Engineer and Instructor. He has a total of over 26 years experience in the marine industry serving the past 6 years as a Marine Supervisor and Drydock Project Manager. Mr. Rushing’s focus is on safety and has been an integral part in writing SURF’s Safety Manual and developing a sound safety program. Melissa Yocham – Compliance Coordinator
Melissa Yocham is SURF Subsea’s Compliance Coordinator, bringing her regulatory compliance background that she has acquired by managing a fleet of 29 domestic and international flagged vessels for Global Industries. Travis Belleville – Safety Manager
Travis Belleville is SURF Subsea’s Safety Manager. Mr. Belleville holds a Paramedic License, ASHM and is currently completing his Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) through the Texas A&M University System. He comes to SURF with 20 years’ experience with the U.S. Army where he served most currently as a Senior Medical and Safety NCO. His experience captures Occupational Health Management and Safety for two Fortune 500 companies in Texas while providing medical care as well as safety training through OSHA 501 guidance. Travis has worked in the Safety Industry for 15 years with focus in the Gulf of Mexico over the past two years. He is a PEC Premiere Safe Gulf/ Safe Land and Core Compliance Trainer. Courtland Thomas – Engineering Manager
Courtland Thomas is SURF Subsea’s Engineering Manager responsible for engineering support of our client’s deepwater field developments and installation needs. Courtland has over 10 years experience in the subsea industry in fields including diving, marine propulsion and decommissioning, and has served in various positions from Engineering Manager to Business Development Consultant with companies such as Tetra & Oceaneering.
