SURF Subsea Completes Successful Inaugural Year With Project For LLOG

SURF Subsea, Inc. recently marked its one year anniversary of Incorporation, as well as the completion of a tree setting project for leading E&P company, LLOG Exploration Company, L.L.C.

Created in May of 2010, SURF Subsea was formed to be a worldwide provider of deepwater construction services including the installation and commissioning of subsea infrastructure. Since its inception, SURF's assets and employees have been involved in numerous projects in the Gulf of Mexico and continue to introduce a new level of operational excellence.

Vessel Activities


Last month our 292ft SURF Challenger vessel, utilizing its 113Te Heave Compensated Lifting Tower, set a tree through its 25ft X 23ft Moonpool in MIssissippi Canyon 199 as part of LLOG's "Mandy" project.

Additionally, over the past year, the DP II SURF Challenger vessel and her personnel have worked on a variety of projects including jumper recovery assistance, plugging and abandonment operations, pigging operations, and flowline abandonment.

The SURF Challenger is a 292ft, DPII vessel consisting of a 113Te Lifting Tower (heave compensated), a 100Te Kunckle Boom Crane, 25ft X 23ft Moonpool, Two (2) Triton XLS Remotely Operated Vehicles, and accommodations for 73.

Surf Subsea, Inc.'s 292ft Surf Challenger makes a mark in the Gulf Of Mexico.

The Class II DP MSV, the Surf Challenger, has just completed Intervention, Maintenance, and Repair Operations for a Major Oil and Gas Company here in the Gulf of Mexico. This job is just one of several that the vessel has worked on since its acquisition by Surf Subsea, Inc. in 2010. Equipped with a 100Te knuckle boom crane, a 113Te heave compensated, multi-purpose lifting tower, a 25ft X 23ft moonpool, and outfitted with two Triton XLS work class Remotely Operated Vehicles, the MSV has performed tasks from Tree Installations to Plug and Abandonment operations.

Speaking on the performance of the Surf Challenger, Wade Abadie- President and CEO stated, "We are pleased with the timely and efficient manner in which the Surf Challenger has completed the tasks assigned by our Clients. The vessel still represents the first of her kind in the Gulf of Mexico and we believe the quality and cost effectiveness of using a vessel of this type is a perfect example of how Surf Subsea intends to do business here in the Gulf and worldwide."

Otto Marine extends its Specialized Offshore Services into North America

Otto Marine Limited, ('Otto Marine' or the 'Group'), a leading offshore marine Group which specializes in building complex offshore support vessels, ship chartering and offer specialized offshore services had expanded to the US market with Otto Marine's wholly owned subsidiary, Surf Subsea Pte Ltd taking a 19.2% stake in the USbased Joint Venture company, SURF Subsea Inc ('SURF'). SURF procured a 292-feet Class 2 DP MSV from liquidator worth US$55 million. The capability of the vessel allows the Group to enter into sub-sea and offshore construction works in addition to its current seismic activities, thereby creating more growth opportunities for its new business arm - Specialized Offshore Service.
